yesss methinks we have become oversaturated with irony content and are now are starved for seeing people be confidently hyperreal/honest/genuine without care for what others think

Such a relief to see I’m not the only one writing about M. Mouse.

Thanks for sharing that Coperni show. I wonder if any Disney parks in the states have done anything like that? NYC is already a theme park in its own (beautiful) way

Thank you!! For sure. I feel like living in England has really changed my perspective on American culture! Are you seeing anything similar where are u atm?

where in england are/were you?! I’m in london so I’m seeing the crazy split between extreme micro trend fashion vs extreme self expression/individuality which I rly feel is morphing into self expression THROUGH group/subculture identifiers, which then almost pulls round full circle to the micro trend following? you’re totally right in this piece (and this newsletter overall) that fashion is in a new and unusual (interesting) place rn. can’t wait to read more of your insights x

London too! I lowkey love London microtrends. They're distinct / different than their US counterparts in New York, super expressive and somehow a little childish? Like I could pick a London Fields person out of a line-up with ease. Lots of bright colors and funky shapes, gorpiness. But I love London style nevertheless, quite interested to see how it'll evolve in this new era!
